Damn it, except for that last panel this comic would be timeless! TIMELESS I SAY.

I considered editing it but what the fuck. We all know the score here.

I was thinking maybe we do a donation drive for more comics, only I hold onto the money until Hyung actually posts? Like a kind of escrow? It’s kinda dickish but I thought it might appeal to the bloody mindedness of some of you folks.

Dreams may no longer be secret with Japan computer screen

Oh shit. I don’t know, is this awesome?

It would really be cool if it someday could be used as a drawing tool. Just imagine shit and paste it on the screen from your brains. It’s very far from that of course, basically they just managed to identify when the brain is recognizing letters so they know what the person is seeing, quite a way from actual detailed visual output, and it will probably have to be heavily customized to each person’s brainmeat. Still, enough processing power and all sorts of crazy stuff becomes possible.

Old links what were originally posted with the comic (Because we need the text):

Losing the War from Writing by Lee Sandlin, which I linked back in 2001 when This American Life (PBS radio show) featured an excerpt, got posted on this Metafilter thread.  The best none-first hand account of WW2.  Unfortunately, think it’ll get more relevant as these years go by.

And yes, comments were made!

Betty Botter had some butter,
“But,” she said, “this butter’s bitter.
If I bake this bitter butter,
it would make my batter bitter.
But a bit of better butter–
that would make my batter better.”

So she bought a bit of butter,
better than her bitter butter,
and she baked it in her batter,
and the batter was not bitter.
So ’twas better Betty Botter
bought a bit of better butter.

I don’t care what kind of chanting is involved, the year is still a new one. One I can only hope will include less of the stupid and more of the woo-hoo.

  1. RGE Says:

I don’t want Hyung to be motivated by money, I want him to be motivated by a desire to tell a story, or share a joke, or something like that. I want my webcomicland filled with happy-go-lucky creativity, not the kind of hard/boring work that only gets done because the doer gets paid. I get enough of that at my job.

  2. Nestor Says:

Yeah well I’m pretty sure he’d have plenty of that if his financial situation allowed it. It was more to appeal to the readers than to motivate him.

Also, not all that serious a proposal.

  3. Neo Kojiro Says:

I still hold firmly to the belief that, if he really wanted to continue his comic-based entertainments, he’d do it in his free time. Interpersonal relationships? Television therapy? Going outside? Fuck that shit. We got comics, son!

Shoplifting is so 2005; nowadays we just shoot the joint up and take what we want.

  4. RGE Says:

    I didn’t even pay enough attention to notice she was shoplifting. I am swine, comic is pearls. ;_;
