A fine life’s lesson for us all.

So! Digg is a wash, but I’m sure you’re all going to click on this button

And put us on the top 50 of that there list. I mean have you seen some of the comics that rank higher than this one? Have you no pride? No? Oh.

War and Japan the nonfiction manga of Mizuki Shigeru. This old dude, famous manga artist, was a soldier in WWII where he barely survived malaria and losing an arm. Unlike a lot of his generation he doesn’t have a “we didn’t do anything wrong” attitude and admits the wrongdoings of the Imperial Japanese

GEGEGE NO KITARO (2007) JAPAN MOVIE DVD

There will fall soft rains. Animated soviet sci fi short based on a Ray Bradbury short story

Not enough nuclear holocaust stories floating around lately, I remember when I was a kid, this sort of thing was our bread and butter.
Serious Lego - this man takes his lego seriously. REALLY seriously.
Stellarium - free open source planetarium software, that is actually used on real planetariums worldwide. Now you can have one in your computer.
Anatoli Bugorski - the man who stuckhis head in a particle accelerator
As a researcher at the Institute for High Energy Physics in Protvino, Bugorski used to work with the largest Soviet particle accelerator, the synchrotron U-70. On July 13, 1978, Bugorski was checking a malfunctioning piece of equipment when an accident occurred due to failed safety mechanisms. Bugorski was leaning over the piece of equipment when he stuck his head in the part through which the proton beam was running. Reportedly, he saw a flash “brighter than a thousand suns”, but did not feel any pain. The beam measured about 2000 gray when it entered Bugorski’s skull, and about 3000 gray when it exited after colliding with the inside of his head.
Evil Diva a new webcomic about high school for demons and angels. Diva is a teen devil with too nice a disposition. Nice clean art and a cute story.

Me and Joseph Duo
Photojournalist Chris Hondros goes back to Liberia to find out more about the man he made into a famous worldwide icon with a lucky snapshot taken at the right time.

. The story is actually from 2005 so I wonder how things turned out for Joseph. I haven’t been able to find any updates.

This seems new. Or at least if it’s a re-post I don’t remember ever seeing it.

I voted too - Interesting gift art at that.

The Amazon page for “Gegege No Kitaro” you linked is not very helpful.

No description, no reviews and not even a cover image. No ISBN either. Just Amazon’s ID. Not helpful if I want to go elsewhere to look up the exact book.

I’ll probably end up ordering it anyway though…

  3. empraptor Says:

lol ok so they’re not even available on Amazon. I guess that explains the lack of any specific info on the page.

  4. Nestor Says:

Er yeah that was a bit of an afterthought, all those links and not one single comercial one! I couldn’t stand it, so I quickly threw one in using the amazon plugin without checking.

I replaced it by the Gegege No Kitaro 2007 movie which is available.

  5. RGE Says:

If you don’t look too hard, the 3 in 2003 almost looks like an 8.

  6. Nestor Says:

    Yeah, that’s the spirit!
