And this is what "they" had to say about it

-----------------------

Ah ... the memories. But you really should be wearing gloves while doing that sort of thing, especially when using an acid bath.

you know, i ponder just like this guy, in the middle of what seems difficult and needing focus to other people.

One time, I was doing a last minute assignment when I thought about whether or not crazy people due to their upbringing, went psycho, get affected by karma.

Its the best way to not overfocus on an activity because overfocus tends to ruin everything.

Speaking of the comic, I haven't gone to the zoo for a while. I think I should go sooner or later. Man, its been like 7 years

So that's what the apron is for.

Nestor | Email | Homepage | 07.29.03 - 9:09 am | #

hmm. at first, i thought that the strip was a ccommentary about the smog problem in LA. now, i understand it as one man's realization that he is a workaholic.

wash off the blood and take the time out to smell the roses, man!

tomz | Email | Homepage | 07.29.03 - 9:30 am | #

Kung Fool : a crazy comic about an angry kung fu chick and some laid back Jackie Chan-type guy who are making a TV series.

Crazy Kimchi : a crazy comic about the writer shooting people... a lot... and burying their corpses.

You either need to get out more and see some of those sites, or get a girlfriend and have wild monkey sex to get that tension out, Hyung!

Benares | Email | Homepage | 07.29.03 - 10:21 am | #

You are a sick, sick, sick man.

Don't ever change

ArcaneFire | Email | Homepage | 07.29.03 - 10:24 am | #

Aie, had a bad day, huh?

I lived in LA for 15 or so years, too, and hadn't been to any of the 'famous' tourist traps either. er. Except Disneyland. hmm.

demodokhos | Email | Homepage | 07.29.03 - 10:32 am | #

Hmm, and that Same Difference comic you linked to is pretty damn good, too. The Nancy chick there is pretty much Mi Sung with a wackiness scale of 7 instead of 9. I guess every Korean guy fantasizes about having a gal like that around.

demodokhos | Email | Homepage | 07.29.03 - 11:08 am | #

I think it's a consequence of wherever you live. I did not get the "joy" of seeing the sights in my city until a visiting friend of mine demanded to "do the sites" or whatnot.

As for Mi Sung and Nancy, I'ma have to disagree on that one. Sure, they're probably -born- of the same archetype, but where they were taken from there as characters makes them totally different. Mi Sung seems more like a comedic foil to me than anything else...

I think it's more like cartoonists in drag.

>But you really should be wearing gloves while doing that sort of thing, especially when using an acid bath.

Acid bath is just to get rid of facial features or finger prints. It would take too long for the body to dissolve, and you'd still be left with bio-sludge. What I'm shown doig is sipmply dismemebering the corpse for easy packing in to samll bags, etc. Runnig the bath for several hours will let most of the blood run. Just make sure to keep the hands and head buried far away from the rest of the body. It's grisley work, but no more then an average butcher or a med student does everyday, and you won't be emmbarassed like an amateur whose whole bodies are found with dental recoreds and such.

Hyung Kim | Email | Homepage | 07.29.03 - 11:37 am | #

*sigh*

You should still wear gloves (acid or no acid)

Personally, I like lye. Works wonders, even on the hair.

Disreputable | Email | Homepage | 07.29.03 - 12:30 pm | #

Just remember put the lye into the water, the other way and you end with a face full of lye from the resulting steam explosion.

(What is a Vig?)

DFG | Email | Homepage | 07.29.03 - 12:37 pm | #

Or you could dump the hacked up pieces off at a pig farm ala "Snatch". Just make sure to shave the victims and pull their teeth so you don't harm the little piggies digestive systems. No messy acid baths, no clogged drains - just happy well-fed pigs.

Did you guys have enough lime when you went to burry that body? Because if you don't they start to smell. And that kinda gives away where they are.

ArcaneFire | Email | Homepage | 07.29.03 - 1:58 pm | #

Oh, yeah, lime. Gotta have that stuff. But if it's not found within a week, they're not gonna be able to find anything useful. 3 or 4 feet under wet earth and a little time ... works wonders. But if you're stuck in the middle of LA ... I dunno. No buildings tall enough for a drop ... hm. Not ideal for my tastes. Man, it's great the shit you can learn on a farm. Now, if you're close to a bay with brine shrimp ... that works pretty good too.
The old ways are best. Screw all that new fangled fancy crap.

BTW, what ever happened to version 5?

I'd never kill a little boy, unless he really really deserved it!

Ferret, after reading about the murdered kid, I didn't find your site very enjoyable.

And in other news:

You, me, us, we, we are all going to die.
Every single one of us and many in pain.

Lives littered with unfulfilled dreams, failed ambitions, and broken dreams. Left hollow feeble, empty, spent in despair, death the only solace. Or even worse, filled with bitterness and bile with age, will take pleasure only in defiling others, ugly in jealousy and resentment. But most will delude ourselves in comforting lies, half truths, and self-serving justifications of our mediocre lives.

Mass murder! He was always late and never paid the vig! You can't let the guy go when he owes you 40 large, you gotta take care of business or it will take care of you. You can't have these marks play you like a chump.

That being said, it's business, not personal.

I live in the wrong part of LA to catch the Hollywood sign. Ya tend to forget it's there. The mountains are better looking anyways.

Of course, it's better than the landmarks I have here in exile ... "Look, there's the Albertson's where that guy killed two people with a katana!" (true story)

That ritual killing article is definitely an ugly bit o' business. Religion, cults, rituals, ... ugh. Root of all evil. And hypocrisy. The victim was made to drink a potion of bone fragments, ore, minerals, … dude, that’s F’d up. Hardly professional, too. I agree that those sick bastards need to be caught and … well, whatever they intend to do with them.

Now, everyone’s sat around and pondered the perfect murder. The basic rules are easy: never kill anyone you know, don’t use anything that belongs to you, don’t keep anything, pay cash, plan ahead for the clean-up/disposal (but don’t plan too strictly), use gloves and coverings that are easily destroyed, fire cleanses, etc, etc. But what’s the freaking point in the random ending of another person’s life? That’s just ugly and downright wrong. Aesthetically, I feel that there has to be reason, justice, irony, purpose, and poetry to such a thing … otherwise there’s nothing to really appreciate in it. Crime is hardly admirable if it doesn’t have a splash of style and panache, even if nobody’s around to appreciate it. I think this is a problem with crime and criminals today, no respect and appreciation. No pride.

Kim seems to have gotten into a rut. Just doing his job, getting distracted by the scenery, going through the motions, another day another dollar. Not good. That’s how mistakes are made. He needs to shake things up, breathe a little life back into his daily routine. And that wardrobe? Please, are you trying to make children afraid of their corner store butchers by smearing their stereotyped image? I know your wardrobe doesn’t look like that.

BTW, what ever happened to version 5?

All they found of this boy was his torso, and they’ve figured out a lot from it. I hope if they’ve caught the people responsible….

Hey, hey, hey!

I don’t like what you’re insinuating.

I’d never kill a little boy, unless he really really deserved it!

Ferret, after reading about the murdered kid, I didn’t find your site very enjoyable.

….

….

Thank you, thank you.

(*shrugs*) Timing is everything…
Frankly, there are folks who are going to view your strip as tasteless, but only because they’ve just been reading the news on Yahoo! about the latest mass murderer.

>Fferret, unless you like blinding people could you pick something other than blue and yellow?

Actually, I did screw around with the colors a bit, DFG, and figured that the blue-on-yellow was the best combination for visibility. Don’t tell me you couldn’t read it, hon? >

A bit off topic, but I thought you would like to know that today is cheese sacrifice purchase day. Not really sure what you are supposed to sacrifice the cheese to, or even why it has to be cheese, but hey - now you can do something useful with that government cheese.

Mass murder! He was always late and never paid the vig! You can’t let the guy go when he owes you 40 large, you gotta take care of business or it will take care of you. You can’t have these marks play you like a chump.

That being said, it’s business, not personal.
I’d appreciate you not comparing the hard working men of the informal sector of the economy to crazy lunatic and other degenerates, thank you very much.

Of course, it’s better than the landmarks I have here in exile … “Look, there’s the Albertson’s where that guy killed two people with a katana!” (true story)

I mean, I understand business, hey, I’m a small businessman myself! Um…how much was that check for the ‘insurance’ supposed to be again, Mr. Kim?

That ritual killing article is definitely an ugly bit o’ business. Religion, cults, rituals, … ugh.
