Well, back to the Megatokyo sweatshops, then.

Couldn’t he just tell us the end to Kill Harry and Murder at the Chateu, and then we could cut’n paste his characters into the panels? On a related note, why doesn’t anyone ever consider cut’n pasting a good enough alternative to an actual artist? I thought Elf Only Inn was great when it was just cut’n pasted characters. Just great!

So far I don’t really see any evidence that that random commenter actually was hsk.
Not to say that he isn’t, just not going to say huzzah quite yet.

Is it just me or is it cold down there in the virgin sacrifice chambre?

Near as I can tell, while there may be a grand plan, each page consists of whatever bubbles to the top of Hyung’s head while he’s drawing. And that’s kind of what I like.

Bullshit. Drawing shit is a part of the man’s very being. It’d be like Hitler popping out and saying he’s over his hatred of jews. Hyung won’t ever honestly quit drawing; he may say he will, and he may stop for a time, but he’s eventually going to get the itch to draw, and then it’ll be like a dam breaking. Only in this case, the dam is holding back porn, cheap jokes, and second-rate plots. Maybe one or two more episode directing attempts.
Yes, Elf Only Inn was kind of good, after he got a decent rhythm to the jokes going and before he decided to actually draw the comics.

fie! fie!
dude, at least write a script so some other no life smuck can render it.
April 11th, 2007 at 8:36 pm
oh never mind, RGE said it already

Elf Only Inn cut-and-paste worked because it made sense, the crude cut-outs represented the lousy avatars that RPG afficionados made for themselves in those old chatrooms.
But how would that work here???
Look at the back grounds…
Look at the view angles…
Look at the shaddings…
JUST LOOK!!
all that cannot be replicated, even if he recycles alot of old stuff.
If this was a gag a day comic strip on 3 panels or less then i would say go for it.
But unfortunately that aint possible, i want closure.
or a substute of greater or equal value.

Oh, come on. We don’t really need fancy schmancy view angles or shading. Don’t be such a graphics whore. In the olden days, I played plenty of games with graphics on par with Pacman, and it worked. So what if the occasional character doesn’t have the perfect angle or expression or pose for the panel? We can compansate mentally. Imagination, people!
And what do you mean “he”? ‘He’ is not going to recycle anything. We’d have to do it ourselves. I should probably install GIMP (I hear it’s free!) and have a go at it, but I’m afraid of the lawsuit.
Cut and paste, cut and paste,
new comics in a haste!

Though I was not part of the original “comment box gang” from the original website, I’d just like to say to Mr Kim that he has what is quite possibly the most devoted, cynical, and funny bunch of fans and that he treats them like an abusive spouse. That isn’t right. It was cool being part of this community. So, if Mr Kim does go through and stops drawing, it was cool just to come here two or three times a day and read the crazy crap y’all thought up.

what?
maybe you never been to a little known website/webcomic known as megatokyo.
do a search, maybe you can see what it is.
now those fans are abused.
f*ing fred goes on and on and on and on about how he doesnt have the time to do 3 lousy pages a week.
wait, make that an average of .7 pages a week (taking into consideration the many hiatus he takes).
how he needs to quit his job to make comics but the website doesnt make money.
then the website makes money and he quits and complains that he doesnt make enough as before.
and does the traffic go down? no.
those poor abused bastards keep coming back, encouraging to keep drawing, defending him and buying his crap.
now those poor saps are the equivalent of the abused spouse fighting telling the police that they ran into the door AND fell on the stairs.
us?
we’re more like the passer-bys who happen to stop in front of an awesome street permformer, someone who does great chalk drawings on the road (but only when it isnt raining or sunny outside).
yep.
thats waht we are.
