I agree with the first comment : Shinji isn’t depicted as the whiny, sorry-assed weakling loser he is enough. I doubt there’s a more pathetic anime character in existence than Shinji (even Keitaro from Love Hina is a walking ball of hunky masculinity compared to the patheticness that is Shinji)!
Asuka’s still a hottie though ^_~ (especially when she’s beating up that worthless little toad Shinji!)

Hey! I don’t use Bittorrent for movies and porn! I use it for anime and porn! See the subtle difference.
Anyway, its not a question of whether or not the movie will suck, its a question of whether or not the movie will get made. The players mentioned in the press release either aren’t gonna be fronting any cash, or don’t have enough cash to front. And if WETA’s involved, the budget is already sky high. So they need another studio to act as funding and distribution, and I sincerely doubt any major studio would buy it without changing everything except the name.

What they should do for the movie is…
-Takes deep breath-
renamed it to Evangelion Vs Godzilla and have it as a rubber suit movie, and have the girls in rubber too, and half way through make it so they discover Gendo is actually a vampire, and then have Arucard come in and shoot him to bits, and have you ever noticed they’ve got his name wrong? Should be Alucard, anyway, and after Gendo’s dead, a gateway to hell opens, and Lucifer rises up, but everyone makes fun of him, as he looks like a girl, and call him Lucy-Chan, and point and laugh, then Kagato from Tenchi Muyo appears and kills him, absorbing his powers, to regien his true place as Coolest villain ever, but Arucard comes back and they have a massive battle, and Sir Hellsing sits at Gendo’s desk, and everyone at Nerv mistake her for Gendo, then Shinji wakes up, and somehow, with extreme luck, manages to dfeat Kagato, who escapes, to leave the story open for a sequel, thne you realise that only about 30 minutes has goen past, and the over hour is just Asuka, Rei, Misato, someone dressed as Ryoko, Actors as the entire female cast of DOA, and a couple genetically modified catgirls (possibly androids) who just basically, dance, strip, and have a big oil wreastling match… with Mazlier Mazer group, reformed speically for the movie, performing in the background….
